Inspired by the many Egyptian hieroglyphs depicting cats, this illustration captures the mystery and reverence these animals held in ancient times. A black cat wanders through Karnak Temple, surrounded by towering columns adorned with ancient carvings and symbols. The warm light enhances the timeless atmosphere of this historic site. A perfect keepsake for history lovers, travelers, and cat enthusiasts alike. Available in various small and large sizes.
I created this illustration because I’ve always been fascinated by Egyptian history and the way cats were revered in ancient times. While I’ve never been to Egypt myself, I’ve often seen cats depicted in hieroglyphs and temple carvings, a testament to their sacred role in Egyptian society. This inspired me to imagine a modern-day feline wandering through the majestic Karnak Temple, blending past and present in a single scene.
The soft, golden light filtering through the towering stone columns highlights the hieroglyphs and ancient symbols. This print captures the mystical atmosphere of Karnak in Luxor, one of Egypt’s most iconic temple complexes, making it a unique piece for history lovers and cat enthusiasts alike.
